Vancouver: Diana Krall and her family and friends officially dedicated a newly renovated and redesigned wing at Vancouver General Hospital at a private ceremony on Saturday to establish a new benchmark in care and comfort for patients with leukemia, multiple myeloma and other blood-related diseases.

“It was the wish of our mother from the beginning to help patients at VGH receive the very best in care. We’re very grateful to the amazing team at VGH, and it’s our wish to continue that legacy to provide comfort, care and hope for patients and their loved ones,” said Diana Krall.

The new Krall Centre brings together all aspects of the Leukemia and Bone Marrow Transplant Outpatient Program on the sixth floor of Centennial Pavilion at VGH, providing care to more than 250 patients from across B.C. each week.

“The Krall Centre not only consolidates our outpatient activities in a single area, it provides a welcoming and safe environment for patients and families. The Centre allows patients to experience their care in an atmosphere of comfort to address more than just the medical aspects of their healing,” said Dr. Stephen Nantel, Medical Director, Hematology/BMT, Division of Hematology, VGH.
