Diana Krall awarded in Germany!

Diana Krall's "Live in Rio" DVD (Eagle/ST2) was voted the Best Jazz DVD of the Year in the "Echo" Award, considered the German version of the Grammy.

However, different from what happens in the Grammy ceremony, most of the "Echo" winners are already known long before the award show and, this year, among the winners in the Jazz categories, are the Tingvall Trio (led by pianist Martin Tingvall) as best German jazz ensemble, the Vijay Iyer trio as best international ensemble, as well as Melody Gardot, Michael Wollny, Klaus Doldinger, Wolfgang Haffner, Frederik Köster, Celine Rudolph, Curtis Stigers and Theo Bleckmann.

The award will be given to the artists on May 5th in Bochum, Germany, and the show will be brodcasted by WDR TV.

"Live in Rio" also was the best-selling DVD of 2009 in the German charts
