Diana Krall will begin a world tour at the State Theatre in Minneapolis on 2 June, in support of her new studio album, due on Verve on 5 May.

More dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks, but it's also been announced that the European leg will begin on 10 September at the Musikteater in Vejle, Denmark. The five-time Grammy-winning jazz pianist and vocalist will play two nights at London's Royal Albert Hall on 27 and 28 September. Dates on the world tour are expected to stretch into 2018.

The new album will mark Krall's return to her jazz roots with a Great American Songbook theme, and will also reunite her with Grammy-winning producer Tommy LiPuma. Their association began when, after she debuted in 1993 on the GRP label with Stepping Out, LiPuma produced her sophomore set, 1995's Only Trust Your Heart.

He oversaw the vast majority of Krall's recording output up to and including the 2009 release Quiet Nights. The artist co-produced 2012's Glad Rag Doll with T-Bone Burnett, while her most recent studio album Wallflower was produced by David Foster. LiPuma, now 80, is also much-revered for his studio work withGeorge Benson, Al Jarreau, Randy Crawford and countless other artists.
