Australia and New Zeland - Tour 2010

The Frontier Touring Company and Roundhouse Entertainment are delighted to announce Grammy award-winning pianist and singer Diana Krall will be returning to our shores in 2010 and, in a world first, will be joined on her tour across Australia and New Zealand by the sublime talents of Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot.

Fans of Diana Krall in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney will be treated to Diana performing with her band and a 42-piece orchestra, allowing them a rare opportunity to experience some of the vast catalogue of her music in the form that it was originally recorded. Meanwhile audiences at the Barossa Valley, Hunter Valley, Bowral and Yarra Valley A Day On The Green events will experience Diana and her band outdoors under the stars.

Diana will tour Australia for the first time since 2005 and New Zealand for the very first time in support of her twelfth album Quiet Nights (released in March through Universal). Since her last visit she has given birth to twin boys, released four albums, produced and performed on Barbra Streisand’s new album, and toured extensively across the United States, Europe and UK.

Reviews for Diana’s Quiet Nights tour have been uniformly glowing with The Los Angeles Independent writing “…nothing was musically impossible with Diana Krall’s easy and sublime performance” and the Winnipeg Sun called it a “…flawlessly executed performance from all concerned”.

Since her debut in 1993, Diana has topped both the pop and jazz charts and sold millions of records worldwide. She has proven her genuine talent and credibility as a mold-breaking jazz musician time and time again.

Returning to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since her sold out 2007 tour is the soulful and enigmatic Madeleine Peyroux. Her latest album offering Bare Bones (Universal) is the followup to previous albums Half The Perfect World and her million plus selling breakthrough album Careless Love. The Australian wrote of her last tour “...her singing was spectacular. Her tone was sweet and vulnerable and her phrasing was elastic…”

Rounding out this phenomenal touring lineup is Melody Gardot, who recently took Australia by storm during a short promotional visit, including two sold out showcases, in support of her new album My One and Only Thrill (Universal). The Sydney Morning Herald wrote of her showcase concert “Gardot feels and looks like a star” and when you learn that she came to her current career through music therapy while recovering from a near fatal accident, her talents are even more remarkable.

To see these three incredible artists all on the same bill is an extraordinarily rare opportunity and one that will be embraced by music lovers nationally. Don’t miss Diana Krall with very special guests Madeleine Peyroux and Melody Gardot in concert this February/March.
